~ blue seedside studio ~
blue seedside studio is a dynamic space for unlearning, co-learning, and cultivating lush conditions for a creative and compassionate planet. From raindrops that speckle azure skies, to waves undulating through cerulean seas, we honor the waters that infuse all species with life, connecting us across time and place. Like tiny seeds, our human bodies depend upon fluid matrices of hydrogen and oxygen. We cradle heirloom varieties, listening for the wisdom within. By embodying confluence and engendering belonging, we elevate insights arising from all expressions of identity.
Our transdisciplinary approach promotes sensorial inquiry and (re)discovery to awaken innate and novel ways of knowing. Instead of lectures and retreats, we host collaborative courses and oases to inspire and revitalize intersecting circles. As we contemplate our roles in today’s world, we grow the capacity to navigate complexity and uncertainty with grace and nuance. Rather than mastering lessons or retreating from reality, we engage multidimensionally, processing the full spectrum of questions circulating around our planet. As (re)generative energy emerges among us, we pass it forward toward the interspecies wellbeing of future generations. A portion of all proceeds go to social and environmental justice organizations. Participants can choose where to send the funds from each event. Recent examples include Rematriation, Queer Nature, Soul Fire Farm, the Indigenous Great Lakes Network, Revolutionary Love, and MOTH (More-Than-Human Life).
Reawakening the Mind-Body-Mother Earth Connection
As human beings, we are far more than our individual ideas, emotions, or physical bodies. This transdisciplinary course offers experiential opportunities to explore our vastness and interconnectedness. From reflexology to polyvagal theory, these interactive sessions will combine timeless traditions with scientific research to demonstrate how inner networks like the nervous system communicate with the natural world. By tracing our intrinsic ties to the Earth, we can remember our wholeness and revive our sense of belonging upon our home planet.
Poetree Photosynthesis
Have you ever beheld ferns or redwoods with awe, admiring their ability to transform sunlight into nutrients? Inspired by the ways in which plants produce glucose, sequester carbon, and infuse the air with oxygen, Poetree Photosynthesis is a collaborative creative practice that celebrates our botanical cousins. This somatic writing method involves accessible sequences of orientating to the environment and attuning to easeful motions arising effortlessly from the body. By flowing through states of stillness, receptivity, momentum, and reciprocity, participants discover poetry emerging from within and around them simultaneously. Together, they co-create phrases to seed future cycles of the process. Each session flows toward a culminating integration stage that allows the group to regenerate the artistic energy that stimulated the cycle. Through Poetree Photosynthesis, people can renew themselves and the practice itself, nurturing their bodies, embracing their surroundings, and co-composing art along the way. The Art, Science & Reciprocity of EcoCreativity
Creative expression opens pathways of sensemaking, healing, connection, and activism. This course highlights how meaningful and impactful poems, stories, paintings, and assemblages can emerge through co-creating with the Earth. From Ecopoetics to the Environmental Humanities to the movements of Land, Environmental, and Ecological Art, we will travel through diverse fields, mapping their evolution over time. Drawing inspiration from visionary artists and writers, we will explore multiple mediums and experience the regenerative benefits of collaborating with our environments. Everyone has creative capacities within, and everyone is welcome.
